Flat or curved?

A flat head gives a wide, even contact patch and close control over a small area. It is the one for cats, shorter coats, faces and paws, and for finishing. A curved head follows the contour of legs, chest and body, which is what you want on long, thick and curly coats and for full-body dematting.

Longer pins reach further

Our stainless steel pins are 50 percent longer than a standard slicker and sit in a flexible cushion, so they give against the skin rather than digging in. They pass through to the undercoat instead of skating across the top of the coat, which is where the loose hair actually is.
