🐾 Ergonomic, Anti-fatigue Handle Design
The bristle design helps to glide through your pet’s hair without tugging and pulling to remove knots, tangles, and mats more carefully. Along with dogs and cats, our Pet Slicker Brush can be used on other common domestic pets including horses, cows, rabbits, and more!
Please make sure when brushing to brush away from the skin. Part the fur and brush, if you apply too much pressure you can cause brush-burn.
The Flat Slicker Brush is the everyday brush: a flat head gives you a wide, even contact patch and precise control over a small area, which is what you want for medium coats, finishing work, faces and paws, and for cats. Its 25 mm stainless steel pins lift loose undercoat and work through tangles without scraping the topcoat.
The patent-pending head design and contoured handle keep your wrist neutral through a long groom, the reason professional groomers reach for it on a full day of appointments.
Who it's for
Cats, short and medium-coated dogs, and long-coated dogs at the finishing stage. Terriers, spaniels, shepherds, retrievers and mixed breeds. If your dog's coat mats tightly, a Goldendoodle, Labradoodle, Bernedoodle or Poodle, start with the Curved Slicker Brush, which follows the body's contour, and finish with this one.

How to use it
Brush in the direction the coat grows, in short overlapping strokes, letting the pin tips do the work rather than pressing down. Hold the coat at the base with your free hand when you reach a tangle so the pins never pull at the skin. Follow with a comb to check your work, if the comb passes cleanly, the section is done.
Frequently asked questions
How long are the pins?
25 mm (2.5 cm), in stainless steel, set in a flexible cushion so they give slightly against the skin.
What is the difference between the flat and the curved brush?
The flat head gives a wide, even contact patch and more control over a small area, best for cats, shorter coats, faces and finishing. The curved head follows the contour of legs, chest and body, best for long, thick and curly coats and full-body dematting.
Is it safe for cats?
Yes. The small and medium sizes are well suited to cats. Use light pressure and short strokes, and stop if the coat is matted tightly to the skin, that needs a groomer or a vet, not a brush.
How often should I brush?
Two or three times a week for most medium coats; daily during heavy shedding seasons. Short-coated dogs need less, but a weekly brush still removes a surprising amount of loose hair.
Which size should I buy?
Small for cats, puppies and detail work; medium for small to mid-size dogs and general use; large for retrievers, shepherds and full-body grooming. If you are between sizes, the smaller one gives you more control.
How do I clean the brush?
Pull the collected coat from the pins by hand or with a comb after each groom. Wash the head in warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry pins-down so water does not sit in the cushion.
